I can hear the trumpets at the end of a symphony, Brahms' First, maybe, or Strauss' Ein Heldenleben. The picture has a strong feeling of dramatic finale.
I'm glad you enjoyed the Michael Gordon clips. Weather III sounds like the end of the world to my, a string orchestra imitating shrieking warning sirens. You might also like his CD, "Light is Calling." It's lighter, appealing to more people but still ingenious. His recording "Trance" is difficult to describe, but I tried in a review I wrote on Amazon - look for the city, not this nickname. If you like these, you might also check out Amy X. Neuburg. Her last CD, "Residue," is brilliant. I reviewd that one on Amazon, too.
